In recent years, grain output has continuously improved with the development of science and technology. Still, due to the lack of grain storage technology and the bad storage environment, China’s annual post-production grain storage loss rate is as high as 8% - 10%. Pests-caused grain loss is becoming a serious issue. “People take food as the sky,” and realizing real-time monitoring of granary pests to ensure food security is an important topic that urgently needs to be studied and solved.

To solve this problem, we have developed a real-time monitoring system for grain depot pests. This system will monitor the situation in the grain pile in real time, use sensors to monitor parameters such as temperature, humidity, and oxygen concentration in the grain warehouse, and use a camera to take pictures of the grains and insects in the grain pile. Managers can view sensor data through the Web Panel or APP, and watch the data in real-time or receive early warning information from the system. It is hoped that the loss rate of grain out of the warehouse can be controlled within 0.8%, so that the safety of grain storage, constant quality, real quantity, and good quality can be ensured.
